Sea and archipelago
The sea ― the soul of the local people
The sea has always been an important part of Hamina. Generation after generation, people have set out to sea from Hamina, and people have returned there enriched by new experiences. Just a short walk from the town centre, Tervasaari with its beach, summer restaurants and events is the most attractive meeting place in Hamina in the summer. The Tervasaari harbour provides a route to the stunning archipelago of the Gulf of Finland.
You can visit the traditional fishing village of Tammio and the island of Ulko-Tammio, belonging to the Eastern Gulf of Finland National Park, by embarking on a regular boat service from Tervasaari in the summer. Of course, your own boat can take you to the archipelago any time you wish.
